Newer homes in Australia are designed to be airtight. This is great for energy savings, but not great for ventilation. However, all residential premises, hotels and care facilities need to meet specific ventilation benchmarks to be deemed safe for the people who use them.

Bedroom ventilation systems swap out stale air for clean air. This reduces the risk of “sick building syndrome” where inefficient ventilation causes a build-up of moisture and mould, and can affect the health and well-being of humans.

Keep the air in any property moving safely, with Ventair’s range of products leading the market in terms of value, performance and style.

The importance of adequate bedroom ventilation

The body’s natural metabolic processes and the items in bedrooms (such as laptops, TVs, furniture and clothes) can affect air quality in the bedroom. Poor bedroom ventilation can not only be detrimental to surfaces and furniture, but it can impact our health, too. On top of this, a stuffy bedroom can negatively affect sleep and therefore, performance the next day.

An open window isn’t always a sufficient solution. For many households, sleeping with an open window isn’t an option - especially when the outdoor air is too hot, too cold or polluted, or when the area is noisy at night.

A bedroom extractor fan, bedroom ceiling fan or other type of mechanical ventilation is the best option. This provides more control over the indoor environment, for cleaner air and a better night’s sleep.

Mechanical bedroom ventilation systems

Some studies (including one by the Technical University of Denmark) have found that sleeping in a well-ventilated bedroom benefits your cognitive abilities. The links between enhanced indoor air quality and overall quality of life are strong, which is why bedroom ventilation systems are key to any improvement project.
